Nike Court Air Zoom Vapor 11 Tennis Shoes
Celebrate your speed in the NikeCourt Air Zoom Vapor 11 in White/Hyper Royal-Hyper Crimson, the tennis trainer designed for hard-court surfaces, delivering a reimagined, reduced-weight addition to the ever-popular Vapor series.
Bringing back all the elements you love from the original Vapor, the NikeCourt Air Zoom Vapor 11 is lower to the court than any previous iteration, giving you an incredibly lightweight court feel for bursts of quick movements and explosive cuts. Lower to the ground and loaded with speed components, it helps facilitate a fast-paced game with enough support to keep you energised set after set. Striking a balance between breathability and resilience, the durable, reinforced mesh upper encourages airflow to keep your foot cool, while adding extra support where you need it most. Furthermore, Nike have simplified entry into the shoe with a comfortable 1/2-inner sleeve that makes for easy on and off for ultimate convenience.
At the midsole, a forefoot Zoom Air unit offers spring in your first step, helping you to make sudden, last-minute movements the game typically demands. Additional cushioning underfoot lends support without adding unnecessary weight, while a full-length foot frame on the outside of the shoe helps to stabilise your foot during quick cuts, allowing you to make confident lateral movements with ease. Underfoot, a herringbone outsole uses a data-driven design to generate optimal grip without impacting your ability to slide. Nike have also removed the rubber in low-wear areas to help keep the Vapor 11’s weight to a minimum.
Nike
Ever since their first entry into tennis footwear back in 1973, Nike have set the trends that define the shoes we see on-court to this day.
Bringing colour and attitude to a sport famed for its formal dress codes, the Swoosh shook up the establishment in the 70s with some inspired designs and endorsements, signing up first Ilie Nastase in ’73, and then, in 1978, John McEnroe.
Confident and uncompromising, McEnroe was the perfect partner for Nike as they grew their influence in the game, particularly thanks to his personal championing of the classic Air Trainer 1 in the 80s – a shoe that likely wouldn’t have seen the light of day had he not insisted its prototype be developed into a full design.
After McEnroe came Agassi, Courier, and Sampras. All three had some superb shoes that pushed the boundaries for technology as much as looks, with Agassi’s Air Tech Challenge and Sampras’s Air Oscillate featuring industry-leading engineering, just as Federer and Nadal’s shoes have in more recent times.
Rafa’s signature shoe, the Zoom Vapor Cage, remains available today with its winning combination of performance and durability, while Naomi Osaka’s Zoom GP Turbo follows in the footsteps of Serena’s Flare in leading the way for women’s footwear. All Court
All court tennis shoes are designed to perform across a variety of court surfaces, making them versatile footwear options for tennis players. These shoes feature an outsole with a universal tread pattern to provide the right balance of grip and give on both hard and clay courts, and even grass. Additionally, they often have reinforced toe caps for added durability, considering the high-wear nature of tennis. Cushioning and stability are prioritised to support swift lateral movements and quick pivots. All court tennis shoes are ideal for players who play on different surfaces or for those who prefer a multi-purpose tennis shoe.
